Dr. Wood serves on the faculty at Franklin University where he specializes in instructional design with the Computer and Information Sciences Division. Prior to joining the faculty at Franklin, Wood was at Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. There, he worked as an instructional technologist with the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force to design training management systems, instructional systems, and certification testing. Wood also evaluated nuclear facility personnel training programs at the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) in South Carolina.
In addition to his instructional design work at Franklin University, Wood teaches ISFL 690, Instructional Strategies for Learning, a graduate-level course that prepares faculty to teach at Franklin. He also serves on the Assessment Committee, a standing committee of the Faculty Senate.
Wood recently wrote an article for Learning Abstracts, Quality by Design: Building Courses That Work for Learners is No Coincidence, and his research interests include blended/hybrid learning environments, knowledge acquisition and construction, knowledge structures, and applied learning theories.
