Franklin University, Chief Academic Officer, Responsible for academic unit including 16 undergraduate programs, 3 graduate programs, 40 full time faculty, 30 staff members, over 500 adjunct faculty, and operations including the Library, Registrar, and Student Learning Center. Serve as a member of the President's Staff and report directly to the President. Responsibilities include: Planning budgets, maintaining fiscal records, and insuring that all Academic programs are of high quality; Leading all efforts to build on the quality of our academic products and continue the innovation process within our academic model; Continuously improving the quality of our people, teams, and how we collaborate; and Initiating new academic programs, courses and other products based on market needs and available resources. |

Responsibilities included: Reviewing the performance of 8 academic programs and program chairs. Maintaining sound fiscal stewardship by providing oversight of program budgets for 8 academic programs. Representing the School at University Leadership Team or Deans' meetings; Demonstrating program leadership for the largest MBA program in central Ohio by enrollment. The program has over 642 students enrolled as of December 2002; Representing the MBA program at professional meetings, as well as with other external and internal constituencies; Approving the course design matrices developed by course development teams to assure program standards and course consistency; and monitored and managed the successful roll out of a revised MBA program curriculum in 2002.

Conducted needs assessment interviews, analyzed survey research data, and analyzed human resource databases to identify reasons for initiating management development programs for Huntington National Bank; Conducted an analysis of over 50 job positions for Eddie Bauer/Spiegel Distribution Fulfillment Services; Conducted a benchmarking study in order to identify a variety of strategies for administering HRD programs within the banking industry; Served as an advisor to Ashland Chemical's Diversity Planning Group; and Facilitated on-site staff development programs for a variety of organizations including such diverse groups as Retail Planning Associates, Columbus Division of Water, Upper Arlington Leadership Council, Ohio Library Council, the Ohio Department of Development, and Sarcom. |
