Financial Aid Standards of Academic Progress (FASAP)
In order to comply with federal regulations under Section 668.16 (e), Franklin University has established standards for measuring satisfactory academic progress for students receiving Title IV assistance. These standards contain both qualitative and quantitative components. Financial Aid Standards of Progress are grouped into two categories:
Federal Title IV Aid Recipient Withdrawals
Per section 668.22 of the Code of Federal Regulations (Institutional Refunds and Repayments), federal financial aid eligibility will be recalculated when a student withdraws from all of their classes within any trimester.
As prescribed in Section 668.22 (i)(1) and (2) refunds of unearned federal financial aid will be returned to the Title IV programs in the following order:
- Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans
- Subsidized Federal Stafford Loans
- Federal PLUS
- Federal Pell
- Federal ACG
- Federal SMART
- Federal SEOG
- Other grant or loan assistance authorized by Title IV
Amounts returned to the program(s) cannot exceed the amounts received. Student refunds will be retained by the University to satisfy unpaid charges where applicable.
