Admissions Requirements for International Undergraduate Students

1. International Student Application Complete and sign the International Student Application before sending it back to International Student Services (ISS).
2. Franklin University Financial Statement for F-1 students This is needed to indicate the third-party guarantor of financial support, known as the sponsor. Your sponsor can complete the form in the application packet, submit a sponsorship letter addressed to International Student Services, or submit an I-134 Affidavit of Support (U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents only).
3. Bank statements from your sponsor The financial statement must be accompanied by a statement from the sponsor’s bank or financial institution to verify the availability of funds.
4. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) -0R- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) TOEFL or IELTS test scores are needed to demonstrate English language proficiency. A free English as a Second Language (ESL) placement test will also be required when you arrive in the country. The minimum TOEFL score required by Franklin University is:

Paper based: 430
Computer based: 117
Internet based: 39
Franklin School Code: 1229
The minimum IELTS score required by Franklin University is: 4.5

Note: The TOEFL or IELTS requirement is waived if you are from an English speaking country or if you are currently residing in the U.S. Get an official list of English speaking countries.

5. Transfer Form If you are transferring from another U.S. institution to Franklin, and you are an F-1 student, the transfer form must to be signed by the designated school official at your former school.
6. Copies of your visa, passport, I-94 card, and I-20 Students in the United States: These documents need to be submitted with your application if you are in the United States at the time you apply. Out of Country Students: If you are out of the country we will make copies of your documents when you arrive in Columbus.
7. A $40 application Fee Your payment options are: cash, credit card, debit card, money order, or personal check.

English Speaking Countries

The following list indicates countries where English is the official language. Students from these countries are not required to complete the TOEFL or IELTS as part of the admissions process.
