Java J2EE Web Developer
Franklin University’s Academic Software Department is seeking an individual to serve as a full-time Web Programmer in the Academic Software group. 2-4 years development experience is preferred with Solaris operating system experience.
Duties include deploying authored software in a UNIX environment as well as administering Apache and Tomcat, authoring Java software (Servlets & JSP experience preferred), programming using scripting languages (JavaScript, PHP, CGI, Perl, Shell, SSH, et al.), utilizing XML technologies (XSLT, XSL-FLO, DTDS, et al.), and performing duties as assigned by the University’s Director of Academic Software.
The successful candidate must possess strong communication skills and be capable of developing and testing enterprise-level software. Database skills such as Oracle, MS SQL or MySQL are required (postgres is preferred). Knowledge of JDBC and Ant, is beneficial, as well. Candidates with Vignette experience will be given preference.
