Spotlight On Jessica Cooper
| Jessica J. Cooper I was a single mom who was interested in going back to college when a friend told me about Franklin University. I had attended a traditional college, but couldn’t take classes during the day, hold a job and care for my son. Franklin’s schedule of evening classes once a week sounded great to me. | ![]() |

I’ve had to overcome some obstacles while I was working on my degree. I got married and got pregnant with my daughter. Of course I was overjoyed – but I was also incredibly sick during most of my pregnancy. I would sign up for classes, and then feel too bad to complete them. Through it all, the Franklin faculty and staff were incredibly supportive. They were there for me when I was finally able to come back – and reminded me to stick to it and stay focused. The Franklin faculty also helped me get an internship that eventually led to the job I currently have. I’ve gotten more and more accounting responsibilities in my job, and now I know that this is the field I want to build a career in. My education, and the contacts I’ve made at Franklin, are helping me do just that. | |
