Why did you choose Franklin University?
I moved to Columbus for a job opportunity and heard a lot of good things about Franklin. I looked into programs I could study online because I travel a lot for my job. After plenty of research, I really felt like Franklin was a good fit for me. I liked the fast-paced format and enjoyed the online work so much I earned my degree entirely online! I also thought it was great that the professors actually worked in their fields and the classes were applicable to real life. That made Franklin stand out.

Why did you decide to return to college?
It was always a goal for me to earn my MBA. I gave myself 5 years to return to school after I graduated with my bachelor’s – and I just made it! I wanted to grow in my career, and I knew getting my MBA would help me continue on the career path of my choice.

Tell us how what you’ve learned relates to your profession?
The concepts I learned at Franklin translated well to my job. The industry I work in is changing quite a bit. All of my responsibilities really related to what I was learning in the classroom. When we learned about the application of the business life cycle, it really helped to see different stages of a business. I was able to see what businesses can do to get the organization through different growth periods – which was an advantage for me in my position.

What kind of commitments did you have in addition to school?
I was in a job that required me to travel a lot. I had a home in Columbus, but I was traveling 3 days a week, working on a laptop all the time. Since I could take all my MBA courses online, my travels didn’t hinder my studies. I learned a lot about time management – and the professors were great with helping me balance my work and life! The flexibility of the online program allowed me to work at my own pace as well as maintain my work productivity.

Any thoughts about the Vantage MBA® Program?
I enjoyed the teamwork aspect of the program. As I worked with different teams, I learned about different learning styles. I work in small teams very often for my job, and most of the time people don’t have the same learning styles. I gained valuable experience working with others while earning my MBA. The program helped me understand how people think and learn – and how to work with them. I definitely recommend this program to busy, working professionals on the go!
