M.S. in Computer Science

Education is of great importance to me.

An appreciation for lifelong learning was instilled in me at a young age while growing up in my home country of Pakistan. That is why I chose to continue my education at Franklin University – to build on my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. So I enrolled in the M.S. in Computer Science Program (MSCS).

I chose Franklin because the schedule enabled me to devote time to my education without sacrificing time for my job and family. It was not even a consideration for me to step out of the work force to attend a traditional college, so I compared graduate programs with evening and weekend classes. Ultimately, I found that other similar programs didn’t match the level of quality offered in Franklin’s M.S. in Computer Science.

I was very pleased with the Program – it was a worthwhile expenditure of my time and energy. In fact, I received a promotion while attending Franklin! This, along with the fact that my supervisor was supportive and encouraging, demonstrates to me the respect this school has for providing an excellent education.

I found myself being able to use what I learned in the classroom the next day at work – just like Franklin said in its literature. The technical courses were very relevant to my work and not only gave me confidence to take on any new challenge, but also new tools to solve problems. I found that I’ve developed stronger communication and leadership skills as well.

Overall, the education I received at Franklin has helped me excel in the field I very much enjoy, and I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to get ahead in the computer science industry.

My advice to those who are very busy? Go to Franklin and you will have the flexible schedule and helpful teachers you need to help you get over the hurdles. I had many things happen while working toward my master’s degree: I got married, my wife gave birth to our son, and I changed jobs. But because I so strongly believe an advanced education is necessary for long-term career value, I was determined to continue on my path of learning.

In fact, because Franklin makes going to school so manageable, now that I’ve earned my master's degree, I also plan to earn an MBA from Franklin – and eventually go on to achieve a Ph.D.
