My unique life needed an equally unique MBA program. As a former Miss Black Ohio, an independent fashion producer and a Network Administrator for the Franklin County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MRDD), I am a career-focused single parent with high standards. I thrive on professionalism, compassion and defining my own success. Franklin University’s Vantage MBA^® Program made the integration of my aspirations and education possible.

So why did I choose Franklin? It was the only school available that was truly accommodating of my time. When I compared my options, there was really no other choice. With classes held just one night a week, Franklin allowed me to prioritize the things in life that really matter.

I attended a Graduate Programs Open House session at Franklin’s Main Campus, where I got to meet faculty and staff and learn more about the Vantage MBA Program. My Student Services Associate was great! She was so motivating that I decided to take the next step right away.

My schedule was beyond hectic. I woke up at 5:00 a.m. to get ready for a full day’s work, after which I headed straight to teach a group of 7th- and 8th-graders about networking and robotics. Each evening, I made valuable time for my young daughter, then started homework around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. Since I had class only one night a week, the time I missed with my daughter was minimal. Franklin really caters to the single parent! I didn’t get much sleep, but I was content that my hard work was an investment in my future – and the future of my family.

Besides being the most convenient option, the Vantage MBA Program also gave me the tools I needed to enhance my career. As an MRDD Network Administrator, I’ve constantly used what I learned in class to be a better leader, and the skills I’ve gained have helped me grow in my current position. The Vantage MBA Program has also given me valuable knowledge I can use to pursue my other goals, which include teaching at the college level and expanding my fashion production company, Mahogany Enterprises, LLC.

Equipped with my MBA, my career has received a real boost. I feel I can take on the world! I am so grateful to Franklin for the opportunity it gave me. I would recommend Franklin to anyone looking for a different educational experience – something truly unique.
