SHRM Certified Professional

Now, more than ever, HR teams are required to assume a greater leadership role, contributing to the strategic direction of their organization. The HR profession is no longer just about what you know – but how you do your job. Franklin University is now one of only two institutions in the state of Ohio certified to offer this program.

Participants can establish themselves as a globally recognized human resource expert by earning the new standard in HR certification, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP™). This professional certification can open doors for professional advancement and serve to harmonize standards with changing expectations. They reflect what HR practitioners need to know to be leaders in their organizations and in the profession.

This intensive 8-week program combines expert instruction with the SHRM Learning System® for SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, so you will learn faster, retain more knowledge and stay on track for success on the exam.


Who Should Attend:

Our certification preparation course is designed primarily for individuals seeking SHRM-CP certification. Certification is a great choice for HR professionals who want to increase their knowledge, advance their skills, and earn recognition from the global community.

Six Sigma Black Belt Certification

This twelve-week blended certification program provides participants with the skills to identify projects and lead a Six Sigma Black Belt process improvement project team. Participants will learn the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology, as well as the role of a Black Belt project leader. 

Based on the IASSC body of knowledge, participants in the course will learn to:

  • Work within an organizational structure and guide leaders in improvement opportunity identification and project selection.
  • Define project including goal identification and quantification of financial savings
  • Understand and describe current state process
  • Use statistical techniques to identify root cause
  • Lead team through brainstorming and implementation of project solutions

Course Structure:

  • 4-week on-line coursework to be completed prior to classroom training start date
  • 8-week classroom and online coursework including homework assignments

Certification Requirements:

  • Completion of Black Belt course work
  • Passing grade of 70 or higher on certification examination
  • Completion and approval of 1 Black Belt project

Certification is not guaranteed. Participants will need to meet project completion and testing criteria in order to be awarded certification. Those participants who complete the course but do not compete the project and testing requirements will receive a certificate of completion.

Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

This eight- week blended certification program provides participants with the skills to lead a Six Sigma Green Belt process improvement project team. Participants will learn the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology, as well as the role of a Green Belt project leader.

Based on the IASSC body of knowledge, participants in the course will learn to:

  • Define project including goal identification and quantification of financial savings
  • Understand and describe current state process
  • Use basic statistical techniques to identify root cause
  • Lead team through brainstorming and implementation of project solutions

Course Structure:

  • 4-week on-line coursework to be completed prior to classroom training start date
  • 4 -week classroom and online coursework including homework assignments

  • Completion of Green Belt course work
  • Passing grade of 70 or higher on certification examination
  • Completion and approval of 1 Green Belt project

Six Sigma White Belt Certification

During this three-hour session (held 9am-12pm) participants will gain an understanding of LEAN Six Sigma, including how it’s developed and how the concept is used to streamline and strengthen manufacturing and service industries. 

Skills learned in this program will enable participants to understand how LEAN Six Sigma concepts can improve quality and reduce cost while refining customer satisfaction. Participants will also learn how LEAN Six Sigma methodologies can enhance quality programs, retain customers, and drive down costs.
