Admissions Requirements for International Undergraduate Students

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS |
|
All of the credentials listed below must be written in English. All translations must be certified. |
|
1. Application for Admission. Please be sure to indicate starting date, term and the selected program. Please make sure to sign and date the application. |
|
2. Application Fee. With the application submit a non-refundable $40 (U.S. Dollars) fee. For immediate processing of application the application fee must be received with the application. |
|
3. Transcripts. Please provide all the following that apply to you: |
|
a) Final High-School Transcripts. Official Certified copies of all original secondary and/or high school diplomas or proof of high school, secondary or senior secondary school graduation, including official transcripts, must be sent directly to Franklin University. Photocopies are not acceptable. |
|
b) College Transcripts. Official certified copies of original post-secondary academic records should be sent directly to Franklin University by the issuing institution. If submitted by the student, the documents must be in a sealed, stamped envelope, unopened. Additional documents required are officialcopies of diplomas/certificates, official transcripts and syllabi for anycourses for which specific credits are required. Photocopies are not acceptable. |

4. For faster evaluations you may have your credentials evaluated by: |

5. Identification. Please provide a copy of your passport information page. |
|
6. English proficiency. Franklin University does not offer a beginning level of English as a Second Language (ESL). Students applying from outside the U.S. must submit a score of: |
|
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 45 for internet-based, 133 for computer-based, 450 for paper-based, or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of band 4.5. |

7. Franklin’s English Placement Test is required of all Franklin’s students. |
|
8. Official financial statements and supporting documents demonstrating availability of funding sufficient for at least the first academic year. Photocopies are not acceptable. No Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) will be issued without evidence of adequate financial support. Please see form Financial Statement for F-1 Visa. |

GRADUATE STUDENTS |

3. Transcripts & Requirements. Please provide all the following: |
|
a) An earned bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college, university, or other institution of higher learning. |
|
Official transcripts from institution where bachelor’s degree was earned. Submitted directly to Franklin University. Photocopies are not acceptable. |
|
For faster evaluations you may have your credentials evaluated by: World Education Services (WES) at www.wes.org, or Education Credential Evaluators (ECE) at www.ece.org |

The cost of having credentials evaluated by WES or ECE is the responsibility of the student. Please go to their websites for cost information. |

b) Grade Point Average (GPA). If the G.P.A. is 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale, no GMAT or GRE will be required, and no specific course of study is required to apply. |
|
c) If the GPA is below 3.0, but above 2.75, a GMAT score will be required for the MBA and the MCM. For the MSCS a GRE Computer Science subject test score will be required. The candidate’s work history and other personal qualities and characteristics will also be considered. |
|
d) If the GPA is below 2.75, a GMAT will be required for the MBA and the MCM programs, and the GRE for the Computer Science Program. Work experience, and other personal qualities and characteristics will be considered for granting conditional admission status. Conditional admission means that the student must earn a grade of B (3.0) or better in their first two graduate courses to reach full admission. Students that fail to earn a grade of B (3.0) or better in either of the first two graduate courses will be dismissed from the program and the University. |

e) Admissions Essay. An 800 word (maximum) statement-of-purpose essay. |
|
f) Two letters of reference from professional or academic associates. |
|
4. Identification. Please provide a copy of your passport information page. |
|
5. English proficiency. Submit official: |
|
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 79 for internet-based, 213 for computer-based, 550 for paper-based, or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of band 6. |
