Admissions Requirements

The Franklin University Healthcare Information Management (HIM) Bachelor of Science is an online degree-completion program, requiring prospective students to transfer in specific coursework and/or experience.

Applicants are eligible for admission to the program upon official documentation of the following:

Option 1: Completion of a Healthcare Information Management associate's degree from a CAHIIM accredited associate degree program

Option 2: Completion of six specific courses:

1) Anatomy & Physiology
2) Medical Terminology
3) Pathophysiology
4) Pharmacotherapy (Pharmacology)
5) Clinical Classification Systems
6) Reimbursement Methodologies

Should the associate degree and/or coursework have been earned more than 5 years prior to the application for admission, it will be necessary to submit a resume for review to ensure that all eligibility requirements are met.
