Business Analyst
Franklin University seeks a Business Analyst to be responsible for ensuring the continuity, maintenance and appropriate development of the University’s software application systems and business processes through acting as the primary contact between end users, system developers, and other areas within the University’s Academic Information Services department. Activities include but are not limited to the gathering, definition, and verification of business requirements, interface design, system design, facilitation of focus groups, and other formal business analysis methodologies or functions as applicable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Facilitate requirements gathering through a variety of techniques, both online and in person
• Interpret business requirements and transform into structured requirement documents.
• Facilitate communication between University departments
• Work closely with system developers to verify and correctly implement system designs
• Work with project stakeholders and other team members to define project plans.
• Prioritize system functionality requirements
• Coordinate prototyping, pilot, focus group, and testing activities
• Performs other related duties as required.

• Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical users.
• Ability to proactively identify and remedy issues or gaps in design at a conceptual level
• Ability to self-motivate and continuously improve deliverables and processes at a rapid pace
• Strong knowledge of current and emerging Web 2.0 technologies, usage, and best practices
Credentials and Experience
• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in business analysis, computer science, software engineering, systems development or related area, or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.
• 2-5 years experience as an analyst and/or developer in an information technology environment.
• Working experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
• Working experience with relational database concepts and schema design.
• Knowledge of and experience using the software development life cycle.
• Knowledge of and experience using software testing methodologies
• Demonstrated presentational experience
• Demonstrated decision making, analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated proficiency regarding time management, organizational skills, and multitasking
• Experience with managing an online social network or other online community tools in a business environment a plus
• Experience with Axure or other prototyping tools or methodologies a plus.
