Learning Resources Center Coordinator

Indianapolis Location

Franklin University is seeking an individual to be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the functions of the Library and Student Learning Center at the Indianapolis location. As the location and the respective department grow, the Coordinator of these areas will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate resources are secured and student needs are effectively met. The Coordinator will work closely and collaboratively with the Directors of Library and Student Learning Center on the Columbus, Ohio Main campus.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, management, and computer skills. MLS required from an ALA accredited institution. Experience with the Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (III) Millennium integrated library system is essential. Familiarity with Web and Library 2.0 technologies preferred. Experience in higher education administration and academic support methodologies are preferred. The candidate must possess a strong customer-centered philosophy.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Developing and coordinating the reference collection for the library services in addition to providing direct reference support to students
• Ensuring that the academic support needs are being met for the student enrolled at the university which may including tutoring, workshop support, and bibliographic instruction, both online and face to face
• Management of all out of class testing proctoring and administration needs for the campus including: placement, proficiency, online course, and makeup tests
• Insuring a consistent flow of work at the front desk
• Hiring, training and developing staff members as needed
• Serving as the departmental liaison for all operational units on the Indianapolis campus including Marketing, Information Technology, and Student Services
• Maintaining and updating all departmental marketing and website content
• Preparation of statistical reports related to student usage of departmental services
• Other duties as assigned

This position requires working schedule of Monday-Thursday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. and an occasional Saturday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
