Lead Faculty of Economics and Finance
Franklin University, an academic institution committed to serving the needs of adult students, is seeking a Lead Faculty member for the Economics, Finance, and International Business courses.
This individual will work in collaboration with instructional designers, practitioners in the field, in-house multi-media group and peers to create adult-centered, active-learning courses for Franklin’s Finance Major. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Developing and updating program and course content, resources, activities and assignments on a regular basis
• Setting course standards and ensuring consistency of course delivery through regular communications with assigned faculty
• Implementing course assessment procedures with adjunct faculty
• Hiring, mentoring, and managing adjunct faculty through observation, evaluation, faculty meetings, research evaluation, professional development activities and professional peer review
• Assigning faculty to teach course(s) and educating adjunct faculty on relevant University policies and procedures
• Administering Course Schedules for assigned course(s) each term.
• Addressing student concerns regarding your courses
• Coordinating textbook orders and other instructional materials for assigned course(s), and distributing to instructors as appropriate
• Teaching courses in economics, finance, and international business and providing or serving as a substitute instructor when necessary
• Participating in personal professional development and research to include publishing articles and giving conference presentations
• Participating in the regularly scheduled Course Manager and University meetings and serving on Faculty Senate and other University committees
• Providing current information on curriculum to the University and to members of the adjunct faculty
• Performing other duties as assigned by the CAO, Program Chair, or Lead Faculty
Specifications:
This Lead Faculty position requires a Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, or Business and three (3) years relevant experience, including:
• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, finance, and international business;
• Curriculum Development;
• Instructional Design;
• Research including publishing scholarly articles and presentations at conferences; and
• Program review and assessment, research evaluation, and professional peer review.
