Business Office Specialist

Franklin University has an opening for a Business Office Specialist.  This individual will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to students while assisting with resolving their balance. The Business Office Specialist also supports the Call Center/Welcome Center and Accounts Receivable Coordinator and is responsible for providing knowledgeable responses, in a high volume environment, to inquiries regarding students' financial obligations to the University, taking into consideration their registration status, possible financial aid awards and the University's financial policies and procedures. This position requires broad knowledge regarding University policies and procedures in Admissions, Registrar's Office, and Financial Aid in order to successfully assist customers.


This individual will receive and post payments, assist students with instructions on how to make an on-line payment, reconcile daily deposit activity with session report from Colleague.  They will analyze student accounts, assist with the processing of tuition credits and have responsibility for third party billing.


The successful individual should be conscientious, detail-oriented, self-motivated and proactive, while enjoying multitasking in a fast paced environment.  Must be able to work with minimal supervision.


Other duties or special projects as needed may be assigned.
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in cash management or a related field. Experience in Colleague/Datatel Software is preferred.  Excellent organizational and analytical skills, oral and written communication, and customer service skills (working with internal and external customers) are a must.


The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, be computer literate, with proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel.  Proven attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of activity is a must.
