Director of CLIP Program
The Columbus College of Art & Design is seeking its inaugural Director for a unique competency-based education project called Credit for Life Integrated Portfolio (CLIP). Formed in partnership between CCAD and Franklin University, the CLIP Program will be an easy to use web-based portal that serves to decrease students’ educational costs by enabling them to submit a digital portfolio of prior learning that can be assessed for college credit. The Director’s role also includes oversight of current and future online learning initiatives that connect to CLIP.
The Director of CLIP will provide primary oversight for the implementation and management of the CLIP program, ensuring that goals and timelines are met, and will serve as program liaison for the CCAD and Franklin University campuses and their faculty, staff and participants. The Director will meet weekly with administration at both CCAD and Franklin to discuss needs to ensure the program’s timely and successful progress. The Director is also the primary liaison between CCAD and Franklin and a variety of higher education and accreditation-related entities that have interest in the project.
We seek a colleague who is experienced in project management within online learning environments, with preference to candidates who have demonstrated experience working on projects that engage faculty and instructional designers teamed together to ensure academically sound and engaging content. A knowledge base, including current pedagogical practices and methodology, as well as an ability to work with a diverse group of faculty and their areas of discipline expertise, is essential.

We expect active counsel in the development of the CLIP Program and its use by CCAD and Franklin University, as well as regular engagement with professional organizations that develop best practices in competency-based education and online learning. Position: Director of CLIP Program, full time
Qualifications: A master’s degree preferably associated with instructional design and/or online learning. Significant experience in higher education is preferred.
