Instructional Design Faculty
Position: Instructional Design Faculty
Duties: Responsible for curriculum-based classroom instruction, including course design, presentation and student evaluation for university credit; Designs learning modules, learning objects, and other related materials for the university academic community; Recommends and promotes appropriate selection of technology for courses; Designs and delivers faculty workshops regarding pedagogical strategies and best practices in incorporating technology for online and blended learning course design; Researches and disseminates best practices in blended and online teaching and learning; Trouble-shooting online or blended course design-related problems; Engages in scholarship related to instructional design; May publish in peer-reviewed journals; Provides service to the department and university through committee appointments, community outreach projects, special initiatives, or other activities; and provides service to the professional community through peer review of manuscripts, participation in professional societies, or other activities.
Requirements: Requires a minimum of a PhD in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education or related field; three years progressive experience; ability to analyze and create distance learning courses, identify learning environmental strengths and weaknesses and recommend specific improvements; outstanding instructional design, technical and computer skills, including LMS, Macromedia Suite, and course authoring software tools such as Blackboard9.1 and e-learning delivery tools; knowledge of emerging technologies, use of social media in education; excellent organizational, oral and written skills. Must have teaching experience in Educational Technology and/or Instructional Design courses.
