Circulation Team Assistant – Student Position

Franklin University has a part-time student position available for a Circulation Team Assistant.  This position provides administrative, clerical, and circulation support to assist Franklin University Library patrons.  Duties include, but are not limited to: check material in and out through the library system; perform open and close procedures; maintain and process work related to OhioLINK; answer telephones; schedule meeting rooms; assist patrons in locating materials; and troubleshoot library equipment, including printers and faxes.

The ideal candidate will work up to 19 hours per week, and have a flexible schedule as the hours worked will primarily be evening and weekend hours.  Availability should correspond to the Library’s open hours.  Schedules rotate every six weeks.


The successful candidate will: be proficient with e-mail and Internet; have knowledge of MS Office products; excellent verbal and written communication skills; be able to work independently and be self-directed; able to multi-task; have attention to detail; and excellent organizational skills.  Reliable transportation is a necessity.

The Circulation Assistant must provide outstanding customer service in person, on the telephone, via email, and instant message.  The position occupant must communicate well in both oral and written English and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Candidates must be enrolled in classes at Franklin University to be eligible for this position.
