Metro Institute of Technology Tutor Work Study Assistant

The Metro Institute of Technology (MIT) is a new 5-year high school program that started as a partnership between Metro Early College High School, the Battelle Memorial Institute, Franklin University, and Columbus State Community College.  MIT is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) high school that draws students from across Central Ohio.  MIT uses mastery learning (90% - A), advisory support, and a hands-on curriculum to prepare students for early college coursework.  Beginning in their 2nd or 3rd year, after completing 16 to 18 HS credits, students will be able to begin taking college coursework at either CSCC or Franklin and working towards a 2-year associate’s degree.  Student’s will also have the opportunity to complete a career certification in their pathway as well.  Current pathways being developed include Computer Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Engineering Sciences.  For more information about MIT, please visit:

MIT is looking for qualified Federal Work-Study tutors who are energetic, dependable, flexible, self-motivated candidates at our Main Campus location (Columbus, Ohio).  The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and have a demonstrated proficiency in the intended subject areas of Math, English, Computer Science, Physical Science, and/or Life Science.

Face-to-face positions available only.

Subject-Matter Tutors needed in the areas of:
• Mathematics
• English
• Physical Science
• Life Science
• Computer Science

Potential of 10 to 20 hours per week. Evenings (Monday through Thursday, 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. and/or by appointment with parents/school administration).  All candidates must be current Franklin students, and have Federal Work Study eligibility.
