Senior Desktop Technician
Franklin University is seeking a highly-motivated Senior Desktop Technician to provide technology support for faculty, staff and lab computer systems.
The responsibilities for the Senior Desktop Technician include maintaining computer images, creating and maintaining support documentation, facilitating technology needs for special events, writing, testing and implementing login and other scripts as needed and providing support for all business and curriculum software solutions.
The Senior Desktop Technician will also use support tracking and project management solutions to plan, track and report project milestones and deliverables, manage support requests, and also provide asset tracking. This position will also ensure timely implementation of new hardware and software solutions, cross train fellow technicians and maintain and build positive customer relations. This position also requires the timely escalation of high impact or VIP technology issues, providing a weekly status report and developing, documenting and implementing processes and procedures. This position works closely with other IT teams. Other technical support as required by the Director of Desktop and Technology Support Services will be part of the responsibilities as well.
This position requires a minimum 2 years hands-on technician experience and Comp TIA A+, Comp TIA Network+ or Microsoft MCP certification is preferred. Imaging, application packaging and scripting, OS, Browser and Office Application support experience are required. Experience provisioning VDI and application virtualization technologies will be highly considered and is preferred. MAC experience is a plus. This position requires excellent documentation, strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and listening skills. The ability to lift 60 pounds (monitors, printers, scanners, etc) is required. An Associate degree is preferred. Occasional travel to domestic locations is required, and may require overnight travel.
