Franklin University has partnered with StraighterLine, the fastest-growing provider of low-cost, online general education courses, to provide an efficient, affordable and transferable pathway for students to complete a degree at Franklin University by transferring courses from StraighterLine.
StraighterLine Founder and CEO Burck Smith said, “We’re thrilled to partner with Franklin University, who has been a pioneer in providing opportunities to adult students seeking degree completion. By making it simple to transfer credits from StraighterLine to Franklin, this partnership is helping students achieve their academic goals.”
As an accredited, nonprofit institution and a leader in online learning, Franklin University provides academic programs for students from all walks of life, all across the country, and all around the world. Our mission of being a student-centered institution reflects our commitment to putting students first by eliminating barriers, providing flexibility in our course delivery, and providing services and resources to support student success.
“Franklin University has built its reputation on improving access to relevant, high-quality academic programs for students who balance their educational goals with other commitments,” said Dr. David R. Decker, President, Franklin University. “By establishing partnerships with organizations such as StraigherLine, we are able to leverage our generous transfer policy to provide a greater community of learners with a faster and more affordable means of completing their education.”
At Franklin University, 90 percent of undergraduate students transfer college credits from at least one other institution. To help provide insight into the value of this previously earned credit, the University created myTransferCredit, an online tool that links prospective students directly to the University’s transfer credit database. In addition to providing free, real-time transfer equivalencies between Franklin degree requirements and courses taken previously elsewhere, myTransferCredit shows prospective students which Franklin majors give them the best return on their credit by providing estimated degree completion dates and a monetary value of the credit toward the total cost of the degree.
StraighterLine solves the #1 issue facing students today – the skyrocketing cost of college – with low-cost online courses that prepare students for success. StraighterLine combines a $99 a month course subscription with guaranteed credit pathways to accredited degree programs to save students up to 60% on the total cost of their degree. More than 10,000 students got started with StraighterLine last year. StraighterLine takes the worry out of credit transfer with a College Savings Network of nearly 100 accredited colleges that guarantee acceptance of StraighterLine courses. Having also been evaluated and recommended by the American Council on Education’s College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT), StraighterLine courses will also be considered by more than 2,000 other colleges and universities for transfer to their degree programs upon request.
