Franklin Expands Far Eastern Reach

The Higher learning Commission Grants Approval to Open New Indy Location

Today, Franklin University announced it has received approval from The Higher Learning Commission to open a new location in Indianapolis, Indiana. Franklin University-Indianapolis plans to offer its largest and most popular undergraduate and graduate level programs such as business and accounting, in addition to the master's in business administration program at the Indianapolis location beginning in the fall term.

Franklin Hosts Iraqi University Leadership

On Thursday, Feb. 12, three Iraqi university leaders traveling to the United States to attend the American Council on Education's national conference will also be visiting Franklin University.  Their visit is part of an Iraqi government initiative aimed at improving dialogue and relationships between American and Iraqi universities.

Theresa Lechton Appointed Dean of Regional Campuses

WICHE & WCET Win Grant to Improve Transparency & Accountability in Adult Higher Education

The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) and its learning arm, WCET, have been awarded a $629,000 grant by Lumina Foundation for Education to promote an ambitious initiative that will provide adult learners with greatly enhanced access to information about how online colleges and universities succeed in helping students meet specific professional goals and prepare for their careers. Police Involved Shooting

On Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2008 an altercation occurred shortly after 9 p.m. at Franklin University between a Columbus Division of Police Officer working Special Duty at the University and an unnamed individual.  The incident started in an alley near campus and ended on the sidewalk near one of the University buildings.  During the altercation, the officer was assaulted and has since been treated and released.  The unnamed individual was injured and went to Grant Hospital.  At this time there is no indication that the unnamed individual has any relationship to the University, its staff, faculty or students.

Franklin to Offer MBA in Poland

Franklin is proud to announce it will offer its MBA program to students in Poland beginning next year under an agreement with a Polish institution, the Wroclaw School of Banking (WSB). Additionally, Franklin is collaborating on the development of a Polish-language MBA degree offered by WSB, which is a fully accredited institution offering bachelor's and master's degrees in 25 areas of study. This agreement represents Franklin's first international program offering, and also WSB's first collaboration with an American institution.

Jones will both receive an Honorary Doctorate of Community Leadership.

Franklin Participates in Seniors to Sophomores Program

Adults in search of their RN can now look to Tri-Rivers Center and Franklin University for more options – options that now include a pathway to a bachelor’s degree.  This groundbreaking program allows students who have completed the Tri-Rivers Practical Nursing Program the opportunity to take eight prerequisite support courses online through Franklin University.  Students who have completed the Practical Nursing program and the eight prerequisite support courses will have 48 semester hours of college credit, as well as previous college coursework, applied to Franklin University’s Healthcare Management major to pursue a Bachelor degree before or after the completion of their RN diploma.  This degree will offer nurses the management skills needed for career development and enhancement.

Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults in central Ohio, celebrated its 124th Commencement Ceremony, Sunday, January 7, 2007.  Along with congratulating the graduates, Franklin also recognized Pete Angus and Perry Maughmer from its undergraduate faculty as recipients of the distinguished Robert L. Bailey Teaching Award.
