Holds 131st
Commencement Ceremony

 

Columbus, Ohio - Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults, will hold its 131st Commencement Ceremony, during which more than 700 degree candidates will receive their diplomas at Veterans Memorial Auditorium on Sunday, May 10.

Tanny Crane, President and C.E.O. of Crane Group will address the graduates. Crane Group is a diversified portfolio company comprised of operating businesses, primarily serving the home building and commercial markets, real estate portfolio, investments in private equity firms, and equities/bond portfolio.

 

Crane joined Crane Plastics Company in 1987 as Director of Human Resources and became Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 1993. Three years later she became President of Crane Plastics and assumed her current position in 2003. Prior to joining Crane Plastics, Crane was Product Manager for the Quaker Oats Company and National Account Manager at AT&T.

Crane is also active in the community through a
variety of board positions. She serves as Chair of
the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Vice Chair of the Columbus Foundation, and as a member of
the Columbus Partnership. Crane is also Chair of the Columbus City Schools Education Foundation and is a member of the I KNOW I CAN Board as well as an advisory board member of the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. She is past President of the Board of Action for Children, past Board Chair of United Way of Central Ohio, and also served as United Way Campaign Chair in 1999.

Crane received her MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and her B.S. in Administrative Science from The Ohio State University.

In addition to giving the Keynote Speech, Tanny Crane will also receive an Honorary Doctorate of Community Leadership from Franklin University during the Ceremony.
