Columbus, OH - Franklin University is pleased to announce the election of Anthony Gonsalves as the newest member of its Board of Trustees. Gonsalves, who was recommended by the Franklin Board of Trustees Nominating Committee, currently serves as Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Planning for Nationwide Insurance, where he is responsible for identifying customer insights and developing marketing strategy.
Prior to joining Nationwide, Gonsalves served as a Marketing Director for Procter & Gamble, with responsibility over eight brands with more than $1 billion in revenue. He was also Senior Vice President of Marketing for Red Lobster restaurants at General Mills, General Manager for Shell and Texaco, Senior Management Consultant at McKinsey & Co., and as the Vice President of Strategy at Sabre Holdings.
Gonsalves earned a MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in computer science from University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. He has also passed the Uniformed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination.
He has a long-standing passion for education and public service and has created and taught both online and on-campus courses in marketing, innovation, and strategy and leadership at The Ohio State University, the University of Colorado, and Denver University. He has served on the boards of Samuels Elementary School (Denver), the Greater Houston Partnership Economic Development Committee, and the Mayor's Small Business Task Force (Cincinnati) and was a member of the board of directors of Nameprotect.
