In a recent visit to the Slovak Republic, Klaus Haberich, Senior Vice President for Planning and Global Programs, met with the Rector of EUBA and formally signed a cooperation agreement that enables EUBA students to earn a Franklin MBA degree.

"The signing of this agreement with EUBA allows Franklin University, an institution known for its expertise in providing access to career-relevant education, to strengthen its position as an exporter of high-value-added educational services, which benefits both the Ohio and the national economy," said Haberich.

The University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA), established in 1940 as the Slovak Higher School of Commerce, is one of the most important educational and scientific-research institutions in the Slovak Republic. The University provides higher education in the field of economics and business in Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral programs to some 14,000 students.

"Many foreign colleges are interested in partnerships such as this to utilize our expertise in business programs and to supplement their own MBA with an English-language MBA," Haberich said. "Most of these institutions find that collaborating with faculty members from Franklin is more effective than launching programs on their own."

EUBA is located in Bratislava, the capital and largest city of the Slovak Republic. Bratislava is located on both banks of the Danube River, bordering Austria and Hungary. Bratislava is home to several universities, museums, theatres, galleries and other important cultural and educational institutions. Many of Slovakia's large businesses and financial institutions are also headquartered there.

Today's announcement marks Franklin University's fifth international program. The University currently participates in agreements with the Wroclaw School of Banking in Poland, the University St. Kliment Ohridski-Bitola in Macedonia, Mangalore University in India, and Sichuan University in China.
