Franklin University Appoints Director of Education Alliances

Columbus, Ohio – Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kathleen Herrmann as Director of Education Alliances.  Dr. Herrmann is an experienced professional who will provide a renewed sense of energy and commitment toward establishing and maintaining the numerous relationships the University holds with its various educational partners.

As the Education Alliances Director, Dr. Herrmann will lead the development and execution of community college and career and technical school relationship-building and engagement strategies, as well as lead the process of identifying, forecasting and developing articulation opportunities in support of the University’s growth strategy.   In her role, she will direct all aspects of the relationship-building, engagement and recruitment discipline including management, program development and implementation, forecasting, and goal setting.

“I am excited to work for Franklin University as well as with all of our educational partners,” said Dr. Herrmann.  “I have a strong commitment to expanding educational opportunities for working adults and am excited to help share the many opportunities Franklin University can provide.”

Dr. Herrmann comes to Franklin from the Lucas County Educational Service Center in Toledo, where she served as Executive Director.  She has also served as an adjunct professor with Bowling Green State University.

A respected member of the academic community, Dr. Herrmann has been a recipient of the University of Dayton Joseph Rogus Scholarship for dissertation studies and has been awarded the Outstanding Young Educator Award from the Allen County Jaycees.

As a dedicated volunteer, she has served on the Bluffton Child Development Center board of trustees, Cory-Rawson academic boosters, and as a United Way volunteer.

Dr. Herrmann is committed to continuing education, keeping her knowledge innovative and relevant through memberships with ASCD, American Education Research Association, Educational Law Association, Educational Leadership Association, Learning Forward (National Staff Development Council), Ohio Career Technical Association (former member), and Phi Delta Kappa.

She earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton; a Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Bowling Green State; and a B.S. in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Findlay College.  Dr. Herrmann also holds licensures for Superintendent; Elementary Principal; Supervisor; Guidance and Counseling; Elementary Education; and Health and Physical Education.
