INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Franklin University will host its grand opening event today, Wednesday, October 14, 2009 to officially celebrate the University's new Indianapolis location. The event will showcase the University's new 20,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Over the past six months, in addition to building out its new facility, the University named a local dean, hired an expert administrative staff, and retained experienced faculty members. First semester classes kicked off Sept. 8, with great enthusiasm and interest from central Indiana's working adults looking to improve their education and career options. The University's convenient Castleton location, flexible class schedule that accommodates busy adults, and in-demand educational programs have contributed to Franklin University's early success in the Indianapolis marketplace. First-semester classes include undergraduate learning strategies, writing, management and other business courses.
Since announcing plans to open an Indianapolis location in May, Franklin University has received inquiries from students across Indiana. Interested students and business leaders are encouraged to stop in for a tour Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. In addition to attracting interest from students, Franklin University continues to generate significant attention from Indianapolis' top employers looking for trained employees with higher degrees.
"Launching the new school has been an exhilarating journey," said Dr. Michael Szakaly, Ed.D., Dean of Franklin University's Indianapolis location. "Now that classes have started we can see the fruits of our labors. We all feel very fortunate and humbled that Franklin University has been so well received by the Indianapolis community. We continue to meet with potential students, faculty members, and future employers for our graduates. This grand opening event will allow us to share the University's many benefits with all of these groups. We're off to a great start, and we're very optimistic about our future in the Indiana marketplace."
Franklin University is known in the higher education industry as a premiere provider of quality, affordable educational programs for busy adults. The University offers 25 undergraduate majors and three graduate programs with courses offered online and on-campus. The new facility is conveniently located in Castleton at Allison Pointe Office Park near the intersection of 82nd Street and Allisonville Road.
