New Regional Location and Co Locations
Columbus, OH —
Franklin University, a leading educator of working adults, is pleased to announce it has received approval from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) to expand its program offerings through a new regional location as well as through co-location agreements with five community colleges. Today’s announcement continues the University’s mission to provide high quality, relevant education enabling the broadest possible community of learners to achieve their goals and enrich the world.
The University’s new regional location will be located in Beavercreek, Ohio, with plans to begin offering courses this fall. The new Beavercreek regional location will provide students from Clark State Community College, Sinclair Community College, Edison State College, as well as local students with previously earned credits higher accessibility to earn their Bachelor’s degree through the University’s transfer friendly programs. Students will have access to face to face programs, on-site advising services and student services such as a testing center. A grand opening event is currently being developed.
Franklin offers a number of undergraduate programs through its College of Arts, Sciences & Technology, College of Business, and College of Health & Public Administration, as well as Graduate programs in areas of Business, Human Resources, Marketing, Healthcare, Public Safety, Accounting and Computer Science.
In addition to opening a new regional location, Franklin has entered into co-location partnerships with the community colleges listed below to offer the following programs on site:
Beginning Summer 2012
Lakeland Community College (Holden University Center): Accounting and Forensic Accounting
Cuyahoga Community College (Brunswick University Center): Accounting and Forensic Accounting
Beginning Fall 2012
North Central State College: Business Administration and Management & Leadership
Southern State Community College: Criminal Justice Administration
Zane State Community College: Business Administration, Management & Leadership, and Allied Healthcare Management
“The opening of a new regional location in Beavercreek and our co-location partnerships with five community college partners, allows students in these areas to benefit from an expanded physical and financial access to education.” Said Bill Chan, Executive Director of Domestic Expansion and Regional Campuses. “Through our 3+1 and 2+2 transfer agreements with these partners and area community colleges, students can earn half to two-thirds of their bachelor degree at a community college tuition rate. Now more than ever, working adults need the type of flexibility and financial opportunity our new Beavercreek regional location and co-locations offer.”
Students benefit from Franklin’s acceptance of previously earned college and professional education credits, minimizing the time and money it takes to earn a degree. In fact, about three-fourths of Franklin’s bachelor's degree students have transferred credits from other schools. This transfer-friendly policy, coupled with the University’s convenient class schedules and regionally accredited curriculum allow today’s adult students to achieve their education and career goals in balance with their personal, career, and financial responsibilities, all while staying within their own community.
