Franklin University President David Decker
to Attend Third Annual

Ohio College and University Presidents’ Conference

 

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – On Tuesday, April 20, Dr. David Decker, President of Franklin University, will attend the third annual College and University Presidents’ Conference in Washington, D.C., hosted by U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA), the Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, and Sen. Mike Enzi (R-WY), ranking member of the HELP Committee, will deliver remarks to Ohio’s higher education presidents. Martha Kanter, Undersecretary of the U.S. Department of Education and Ohio Chancellor Eric Fingerhut will also address the group.

The annual conference will focus on educational priorities, strategies to forge statewide partnerships, and initiatives to maximize federal investments. Sen. Brown, Dr. Decker, and 52 presidents from colleges and universities across Ohio will review best practices for matching workforce development education with the needs of potential employers and emerging industries.
