Franklin University Unveils New Safety and Security Suite

—

Columbus, Ohio —Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults, is pleased to announce the unveiling of its new Safety and Security suite.  The first of its kind at Franklin, the new suite provides a centralized point of improved operations for the University’s core safety and security functions.

Made possible through the generous donation of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Hall, the new suite allows all safety and security personnel, including Columbus Police Department special duty officers, to be located within one functionally integrated area. The suite houses a number of safety, control, and monitoring systems, as well as other security features.  In addition, the new suite provides the space necessary to plan, respond, and, if necessary coordinate with external public safety and law enforcement agencies.

An active alumni member since 1983, Eldon is also a long time supporter of the University, donating funds to support the research and development of new ideas that assist the University.  His long-standing support of the University’s development made Eldon a natural choice as the namesake for the monthly morning Hall Leadership Lessons.

"When I was a student at Franklin, the University gave me a chance to get a degree when I was working, gave me an opportunity to raise a family, and gave me the skills to run my own business,” said Eldon Hall.  “As an alumnus, it is important for me to give back to my alma mater.  That is why I supported this project- to give back to the future alumni of Franklin University."

The placement of the Department of Safety and Security Services with other operational departments within the University improves the daily flow of informal communication and expedites formal information sharing with key stakeholder groups that support the University’s mission.
