Franklin University Appoints |

|
Columbus, Ohio - Franklin University, a leading educator of working adults in central Ohio, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Garry McDaniel as Associate Dean for the Extended University. The newly created position is an essential part of the University's recent reorganization that will allow for the growth necessary to support Franklin's future objectives. As Associate Dean for the Extended University Dr. McDaniel, formerly a member of Franklin's MBA faculty in the area of organizational and leadership effectiveness, will serve as the coordinating structure for the development of non-credit programs and educational services. In this position, Dr. McDaniel will work to enhance the University's presence in the community through the provision of non-credit programs, educational products, and related services. Prior to joining Franklin University Dr. McDaniel served as President of a private consulting firm working with organizations to enhance profitability, quality, service and employee morale and retention through organizational, team and interpersonal effectiveness. He also led the Global Leadership & Succession Planning efforts, management training and career center for Advanced Micro Devices. Client organizations have included Samsung, 3M, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, The University of Texas School of Public Health, Catholic Charities and the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center. He has authored two books, Conflict to Cooperation: A process for mediating group differences, and Managing the Business: How Successful Managers Align Management Systems with Business Strategy as well as numerous articles. Dr. McDaniel's research interests focus on the relationship between individual and corporate leadership, change management, organization development, organizational behavior and business ethics. Dr. McDaniel earned his Doctorate in Education in Human Resources Leadership from the University of Texas, and holds a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management from Texas State University.
