Franklin University
Celebrates International Education Week

Columbus, Ohio - On Nov. 13, Franklin University's Office of International Services & Programs (OISP) held its first annual World Fest in celebration of International Education Week. Among the 250 attendees were international students, faculty, staff, and members of the local community.
International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.
The celebration included displays from various countries and regions of the world, international entertainment and presentations, booths representing various world-focused local organizations, the sale of international items, and ethnic food from local restaurants among others.
Klaus Haberich, Senior Vice President of Global Programs stated, "As Franklin University's globalization becomes a reality, an event such as this contributes significantly to the University's awareness that we are part of the global community and have an obligation to learn more and contribute to the internationalization of Franklin as a strategic endeavor."
The committee to organize this event was headed by OISP staff and approximately 30 other volunteers from throughout the campus and the community. OISP expresses its sincere gratitude to all of those who made the event successful.
