Franklin University Appoints |

|
Columbus, Ohio — Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults in central Ohio, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Brotherton to the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the University. This new appointment will allow Brotherton to set strategy to align Franklin’s mission of serving its students with its goal of leading the academic community as a technology innovator. In his new role, Brotherton will have responsibility for the Technology Infrastructure Group, Desktop Services, University Information Systems, and the Application Development team members responsible for the University’s Web sites. Prior to this appointment Brotherton served as the Director of Technology Infrastructure and Network Services with responsibility for developing, executing and leading the overall network infrastructure resource plan for Franklin University. As the Director, Brotherton was instrumental in leading the University’s Technology Infrastructure Group (TIG) in providing technical expertise, guidance and support for strategic business initiatives and maintaining and enhancing student, faculty, staff, business and campus operational services. Brotherton is a seasoned information technology executive with nearly two decades years of experience, 10 serving in a variety of management roles. His professional focus has been to add value to business operations and deliver information critical to the needs of executive decision-makers by focusing on the management of network infrastructures. Brotherton has applied his ability to analyze, strategize, organize and manage processes and people in industries such as global manufacturing of electronic instruments and electric motors, and recruitment services. Past professional positions include Manager of Information Technology, Network Services Manager, Network Administrator, and PC Support Technician. He earned a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. Brotherton replaces Ron Morgan as Morgan moves into his new role as Dean of Academic Technology and Innovation. Morgan’s new role allows him to rejoin the academic affairs unit in a role that will develop strategies and plans for scalable and sustainable growth for all academic initiatives.
