Franklin Signs MoU with Mangalore University

 

Columbus, Ohio - Franklin University is proud to announce its signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mangalore University for collaboration in the management programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.  

In a recent visit to India, Franklin President, Dr. David R. Decker, met with Mangalore University's Vice Chancellor, Professor K.M. Kaveriappa to participate in a formal signing ceremony.  Today's announcement represents Franklin's third international cooperation agreement.  The University currently participates in agreements with both the Wroclaw School of Banking and the University St. Kliment Ohridski-Bitola.

This collaboration includes credit transfer, exchange of faculty, and the awarding of a limited number of partial and full scholarships for students from Mangalore University or its affiliated colleges to study and earn their degree from Franklin University.

Klaus Haberich, Franklin's Senior Vice President for Planning and Global Programs, emphasized the benefits which foreign collaboration will bring to Franklin, as well as the role Franklin's presence plays in assisting U.S.-based entities abroad.  "Many American companies have expanded their businesses abroad, thus requiring well-trained, business-focused personnel to assist in their international expansion efforts."  Haberich said.  "Considerable opportunities also exist for Franklin to expand outside of the United States, in India and elsewhere, and these opportunities will contribute to maintaining the strong growth Franklin has experienced in recent years.  By sharing Franklin's intellectual capital with students in India, we also assist U.S. companies achieve greater opportunity for successful international growth strategies of their own."

Accredited at the 4 Star level by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) University Campus, Mangalagangotri is located on a picturesque landscape, covering over 350 acres of land, just outside Mangalore city.  The University has 25 Post-Graduate Departments on the Campus; two constituent colleges; four colleges of law; 17 colleges of education; five autonomous colleges; and 126 affiliated colleges/institutions.

Mangalore is the first university in India to offer Bachelor's degree programs in Hotel Management, Fashion Design, Garment Design, Leather Design and Human Resource Development, as well as Post-Graduate programs in Computer Software and Yogic Sciences. The University offers innovative and need-based Master's degree programs in Computer Science, Business Management, Microbiology, Electronics and Geo-Informatics.
