October Hall Leadership Lessons to Feature Dr. Paul Otte

Columbus, Ohio - Hall Leadership Lessons, a free community leadership forum provided by the Franklin University Leadership Center, will feature Dr. Paul Otte, Executive Director, Franklin University Leadership Center and President Emeritus, Franklin University, during the October forum, Thursday, Oct. 9.  The session, held from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. will be held in Franklin University's Ross Auditorium on the Main Campus, downtown, located at 301 E. Rich Street.

His presentation, titled, "The Higher Levels of Leadership - Vantage Leadership", will highlight the Higher Levels of Leadership in depth as well as review the Higher Levels of Leadership Indicator (HLLI) participant results (originally introduced at the 5th Annual Raymond E. Mason Jr. Leadership Symposium in April of 2008).

In 1986, Dr. Otte began his term as Franklin University president.  He created Franklin's Leadership Center in 2004 to serve as a resource for leadership development in business, government, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions, and now serves as its Executive Director.

Prior to joining Franklin, Dr. Otte served as Vice President for Business at Macomb Community College in Warren, Mich.  He has taught at Wayne State University, the University of Detroit, Macomb, and Franklin.  Prior to entering higher education, Dr. Otte worked as a CPA, and before that served in the Marine Corps where he achieved the rank of corporal after serving only four years.

In addition to his duties at Franklin, Dr. Otte currently serves as a board member of State Auto Mutual Insurance Company, Cooper State Bank, and Oakstone Academy.  He is also an advisory board member for R.C. Olmstead, and has served on several community and educational boards.

He holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Western Michigan University, a bachelor's degree and MBA from Wayne State, and an Honorary Associate Degree from Macomb.

The Franklin University Leadership Center serves as a valuable resource for individuals and organizations looking to identify and develop leadership talent throughout central Ohio in the four sectors of business, community, government and education.  Hall Leadership Lessons present leadership development and networking opportunities for anyone interested in leadership. The forums are conducted the second Thursday morning of each month in Ross Auditorium. A continental breakfast is provided.
