Columbus, Ohio - Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults, is pleased to announce the election of Eugene Griffin and Carl Johnson as new Board members. Both new members were recommended by the Board Nominating Committee during its July meeting. "The election of Eugene Griffin and Carl Johnson to the Franklin University Board of Trustees continues the professional experience and knowledge needed to oversee Franklin University's continued growth and success" said Melissa Ingwersen, Chair of the Franklin University Board of Trustees. Eugene Griffin Background After practicing as an engineer in the 1980-90's with Lennox and other Columbus firms, he went into business with a partner to establish a mechanical/electrical engineering firm. Griffin and Todd Mace founded Dynamix Engineering Ltd in June 1997. Included in the company's list of clients, both past and present, are The Ohio State University Medical Center, the University of Michigan, Marion General Hospital, and the Nationwide Arena project. In addition to his responsibilities at Dynamix, Griffin has volunteered his time toward his personal interests by working with the Children's Hunger Alliance, Boy Scouts of America, and the Red Cross. Griffin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Franklin University and Applied Science from Alfred State College-SUNY College of Technology. Carl E. Johnson Background Carl has been employed with PPG Industries since 1998. His more than 25 years experience in manufacturing and supply chain management includes positions with Monsanto and Union Carbide in areas such as manufacturing management, budget development, project management, organizational development, strategic planning. In addition to his new position with the Franklin University Board of Trustees, Johnson serves on the boards of Recreation Unlimited and the Delaware County Red Cross, serves on the Delaware City Tax Incentive Review Committee, and has served on the boards of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and Delaware County Cultural Arts Center. |
