Alexander Heckman

Alexander Heckman - Program Chair

Dr. Heckman received his Ph.D. in Public Policy Management and his MPA from The Ohio State University. He has significant experience with government and nonprofit organizations, having worked as a performance audit manager for the Ohio Auditor of State and as a budget and policy analyst for the Ohio General Assembly.

Program Outcomes

  • Examine the impact of government institutions and the political system on program implementation and administrative decision making in public and nonprofit organizations
  • Apply legal and ethical principles for administrative decision making
  • Analyze administrative situations using public administration concepts and organizational theories and principles of management from multiple disciplines
  • Create and present credible arguments using multiple media
  • Analyze budget and financial information for administrative decision making and reporting
  • Apply leadership and management skills in administrative and group situations
  • Create an administrative action plan for addressing an important administrative problem by applying concepts and skills learned in the Public Administration Program and the student’s specialization area
