To assist with this educational process, Franklin offers a specific functional area to both support and challenge you along this developmental journey through advocacy, resource attainment and engagement. 

The Office of Student Life seeks to impact the co-curricular learning experience through purposeful interaction and intentional opportunities for growth and learning.

About Student Life

Student Life strives to impact student success through three primary functions:

Informal Resolution:  
Serves the purpose of assisting students in overcoming personal or academic challenges in pursuit of their education.  Offers opportunities to facilitate solutions that provide a positive outcome for both the student and the Institution.

Financial Wellness:  
Serves the purpose of assisting students who are experiencing financial obstacles in pursuit of their education.  Offers opportunities to provide guidance and resources toward assisting students effectively manage their financial commitments to the Institution

Student Wellness:  
Serves the purpose of assisting students in locating resources to address any factors impacting their holistic health.  Functionality focuses on the addressment of the fulfillment of basic level needs (e.g. Food, Housing, Mental Health etc.) toward a healthy and engaged student experience.

Chris Tyner, Director of Student Life and Community Standards

Chris Tyner currently serves as the Director of Student Life and Community Standards at Franklin University.  Chris has served as a higher education administrator for over 16 years with primary experience in Student Life and Development, Student Retention and Persistence, Academic Advising  Community Standards, Disability Services and Student Ombuds facilitation.  Chris strives to work directly with students toward the creation of a comprehensive and fulfilling student experience both inside and outside the classroom.  Employing a balanced approach of student support and accountability, Chris seeks to partner with students in overcoming obstacles while impacting development through problem solving and critical thinking skills.
