Need help financing your education? Here are your options.
The following programs are available to help you achieve your academic goals. Links for student eligibility requirements, standards of academic progress, deadlines and the steps for applying for the specific types of assistance can be found on the Financial Aid pages.
Grants
These are need-based funds that do not require repayment. Generally, students receive grant funds in combination with loans or Federal Work Study (student employment). The following grants are based on the financial circumstances of the student/family. For further information and requirements on these programs, click on Financial Aid Programs under the Applying for Financial Aid section.
Federal:
- Federal Pell Grant (PEL)
- Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
- Federal Science and Math Academic Retention Grant (SMART)
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
State of Ohio - for Ohio Students Only:
- Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG)
Loans
Loans make it possible for a student and/or family to defer educational costs by borrowing now and repaying later. Loans are available to most students. The rate of interest varies according to the type of loan eligibility, which is based on individual financial circumstances. Many long-term loans do not begin to accrue interest until a student drops below half-time enrollment. Also, repayment may be deferred until a student drops below half-time enrollment. Loans MUST be repaid. For further information, visit our Loan Process page.
Student Employment
Part-time student employment is available in various administrative and academic offices on campus.
Scholarships
Please visit our Scholarship page for further information about both internal and external scholarships.
