Franklin University has a full time opening for an Academic Assistant.  This position will provide academic and administrative support to three academic colleges (Ross College of Business, College of Arts, Sciences & Technology, and College of Health & Public Administration). The assistant may have responsibility for supervision of federal work-study students and/or student workers in the academic area. Some of the responsibilities include: 

•    Manages event calendars and schedules meetings.
•    Plans, coordinates and attends events such as advisory board meetings, adjunct retreats, and department and faculty senate/ad hoc committee meetings. Prepares all materials for events and meetings.
•    Run enrollment reports, mail textbooks, prepare mailers, run course tallies and class rosters.
•    Prepares course scheduling change forms, substitute instructor forms, book requests, hiring recommendation forms, copyright requests, and purchase orders for processing.
•    Compose and complete presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
•    Assists in orientation of new faculty.
•    Assists faculty with adjunct staffing and scheduling

This individual should be able to work with minimal supervision, anticipate the needs of faculty, have the ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, dependable, and possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, while maintaining confidentiality.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products is required including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access.  A high school diploma or GED is required.  Prior administrative and higher education experience is preferred. Some evening/early morning hours may occasionally be required to support the needs of the department.
