Assistant Director of Planning, Managment and Facilities
Franklin University has an available position for the Assistant Director of Planning, Management and Facilities. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Assistant Director will oversee the Maintenance Supervisor and provide support in the upkeep and evolution of the University’s physical campus, buildings and equipment in a proactive, predictive and preventative manner. The Assistant Director will consistently evaluate and identify opportunities for improvement across campus and partner with the Executive Director as the project manager for capital improvement projects.
Duties will include working with the Facilities Coordinator to receive , process and monitor work requests through our work request system; scheduling preventive and routine maintenance duties with staff, internal clients, vendors and contractors; communicating with internal clients regarding status of work being performed; supervising and maintaining all aspects of Landscaping; servicing and repair to electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, University vehicles and equipment; snow and ice removal; managing the organization and inventory of the universities storage and mechanical areas; and other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have five or more years of building maintenance experience and at least two years of supervisory experience. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the following areas: basic electricity, carpentry, drywall/plaster repairs, plumbing, and landscaping, and strong computer skills including Word and Excel. Candidates must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and have a valid Driver’s License. Preference will be given to candidates that possess certifications such as HVAC, OSHA, Level 1 Builder’s Operator Certificate, etc… This position will require a flexible schedule to cover the priorities of the Department as evening and weekend hours may be necessary. Some travel is expected.
