Assistant Director of Public Relations and Social Media
Franklin University has an opening for an Assistant Director of Public Relations and Social Media. This individual is an experienced and skilled public relations/social media professional who creates, promotes and manages projects that elevate the voice, presence, and reach of Franklin University and its enterprise divisions, across traditional and social channels. The Assistant Director strategically engages internal and external audiences in order to elevate the reputation of the University in support of strategic goals. Specific responsibilities include media relations, social media, communications and reporting/tracking.
We seek someone with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of demonstrated success managing internal and external social media and public relations efforts. A Master’s degree is preferred. The selected individual will have strong computer proficiency that includes Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, and online social media management platforms including Meltwater. He/she will have expert writing/editing ability; proven success with public relations, multimedia storytelling; and project planning/management experience. The Assistant Director must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills and demonstrated ability to grow internal and external client relationships. In addition, he/she must be able to successfully interact and communicate with both current and prospective students, and varying levels of management within the University. Experience in higher education would be a plus in this position.
