Financial Aid Associate

Franklin University is seeking to fill a full-time Financial Aid Associate.  The selected individual will process financial aid in accordance with federal, state and institutional policies and procedures.  He/she will serve as the primary financial aid contact in educating students and parents on the financial aid process including eligibility, professional judgement, payment alternatives and debt management.  The Financial Aid Associate serves as a liaison to other areas to meet student needs.  Minimum travel is required and this position may require occasional evening and weekend hours.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience in student financial aid including knowledge of the verification and awarding process.  Proven attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of activity, along with the ability to exercise sound judgment in considering individual circumstances are a must in this position. We require someone with demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.  He/she must have excellent organizational and analytical skills, knowledge of financial aid compliance requirements, strong counseling and training skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills in order to serve a diverse population. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.  Ellucian Colleague experience would be a plus in this position as would knowledge of accounting principles and a technical background.
