Franklin University is seeking to fill a full-time Financial Aid Associate.  This position is a member of the financial aid processing team, which is responsible for the administration of all Title IV Federal, state, institutional and private aid funding in order to meet the financial needs of students in Franklin University’s undergraduate, graduate and doctoral student populations.

Job duties of the selected individual may include (but are not limited to): accurately awarding financial aid funds and ensuring federal, state, institutional, and non-university resources are applied appropriately.  This position will contribute to the compliance of federal and state regulations and the creation and enforcement of office policies and procedures in order to ensure timely and accurate delivery of student financial aid. The Financial Aid Associate will be expected to work in a team environment and will serve as a primary financial aid contact to student-facing University departments in order to meet student needs. 

The successful candidate must be willing to work collaboratively in an online team environment as this position has a hybrid working schedule of at most two days on-campus, while the other days may be remote.  

The successful candidate will have:

•    A Bachelor's degree
•    One year of experience in student financial aid, student affairs, higher education administration, or related fields
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office
•    Must not be in default on title IV loans

Desired Qualifications:

•    Demonstrated knowledge of the federal verification, student eligibility, and financial aid awarding principles 
•    Ability to analyze and interpret complex federal, state and university regulations, policies and procedures, and guidelines
•    Ability to manage highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality in accordance with all Federal, State, institutional and office regulations and guidelines
•    Experience with automated systems from the Department of Education and any FA Student Information Systems (specifically Ellucian Colleague)  
•    Proven attention to detail, possess a high level of accuracy and ability to manage high volumes of activity 
•    Ability to exercise sound judgment, critical thinking and problem solving 
•    Demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.  
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to serve a diverse population.
