Franklin University has an opening for a Financial Analyst.  Reporting to the Director of Financial Services, the selected individual will assist the Director and the CFO organization in the conduct of financial activities of Franklin University through budgeting, variance analysis, financial modeling and forecasting, financial vendor interface, internal customer support, and investment analysis and reporting.  

Representative duties include developing presentable financial models and reports; administering budget software and analytics tools to accommodate the University budget process, reporting, and analysis for both short-term and long-term planning and forecasting; researching, collecting, and monitoring data related to investment economic trends and financial markets, assisting management with process improvements related to routine and recurring transactions; developing and maintaining reports, files and reconciliations related to the University’s long-term investment accounts, partnering with external investment advisors to ensure timely and accurate investment performance reporting; routinely engaging in cross functional partnerships to ensure there are adequate skills in place to enable timely and meaningful reporting out of the Business Intelligence system and/or budget system; facilitating insurance renewals, claim activity, and compliance reporting with insurance carriers; providing support for Colleague/Business Intelligence security settings; processing quarterly filings and completing survey requests; and providing support of the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees with the development of relevant information and schedules to inform the Committee’s/Board’s governance and decisioning.

We seek someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and a minimum of one year of finance/accounting experience.  The selected individual must have proven analytical skills and system orientation used to formulate and execute analyses.  The Financial Analyst position requires someone who is forward thinking with the ability to influence and persuade others and someone with the ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.  Superior attention to detail and accuracy are a must in this position.  Finally, the position requires someone with effective oral and written communication skills and excellent time management and organizational skills.
