Lecturer, Computer Science and Analytics

The Department of Computing Sciences and Mathematics at Franklin University invites applications for a 9-month visiting faculty or 12-month permanent lecturer position in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Technology, beginning Fall 2022 or Spring 2023.  Franklin University is a private, independent, regionally accredited, not-for-profit university located in Columbus, Ohio.  This position would be an on-site teaching role at the master’s level. Opportunities for summer overload are available.

Franklin offers a Master of Science with majors in several computing areas including Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Business Analytics, and Data Analytics. Bachelor’s degrees in these and other fields are also offered. Faculty members at Franklin work in a highly collaborative environment; teaching, developing, and supporting courses for delivery by full-time and adjunct faculty.  As a lecturer or visiting faculty member, the successful candidate will:

•    Deliver four pre-developed courses per semester
•    Train and oversee graders and mentors for those courses.
•    Provide feedback to lead faculty on course quality.
•    Collaborate with Lead Faculty to recruit, schedule, supervise, and mentor adjunct faculty
•    Assess student learning
•    Maintain currency within the field

Applicants for this fulltime faculty position must possess a doctoral degree in cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, data analytics or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution. Three years of college teaching experience are required. Industry experience, a broad range of knowledge in computing sciences, strong communication skills, a research track record, and experience in online education are desired. Faculty must work effectively with students, staff, and other faculty, both adjunct and fulltime.
