Program Chair MS in Cybersecurity

The Department of Computing Sciences and Mathematics (CSM) at Franklin University invites applications for an energetic and experienced academic leader to chair its M.S. in Cybersecurity program. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment that can be remote. The Chair will provide leadership for the M.S. in Cybersecurity program and be responsible for:

  • Program, course, and curriculum development
  • Oversight of course quality including content creation, industry alignment, design, and pedagogy.
  • Oversight of instructional quality including hiring, mentoring, and evaluating adjunct faculty for face-to-face and online courses.
  • Service on university committees
  • Teaching 2 courses per academic year
  • Championing the M.S. Cybersecurity program and developing and maintaining relations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assessing and improving student learning outcomes.
  • Coordinating with admissions, advising, and other departments on campus to support student success.
  • Oversight of the NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence special accreditation application and renewal processes.
  • Recruitment and oversight of the program advisory board from industry.
  • Implementing projects for the program, department, and university, as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  •  A doctoral degree in cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, information technology, or a closely related discipline from an institutional (formerly regional) accredited institution. ABD candidates who successfully defend by Fall 2023 will be considered.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills and Characteristics

  • Three or more years of college teaching experience at the graduate level with working adult students
  • Three or more years of professional cybersecurity experience
  • Prior experience supervising adjunct faculty and/or developing course and program curriculum.
  • Industry certifications relevant to the position
