Senior Windows Systems Engineer

Franklin University has a full-time position open for a Senior Windows Systems Engineer. Responsibilities include design and development of a Microsoft Windows infrastructure as well as the hands-on operational administration, support, and troubleshooting of Windows Servers, Desktops, and Office 365.  This position provides design guidance and technical leadership across projects and initiatives, requires hands-on participation in systems, network and data security planning and operations, and shares in 24x7 On-Call responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of Microsoft engineering experience above and beyond desktop administration, a B.S. in Computer Science (or a related field), and is Microsoft Certified.  A strong background in Active Directory, infrastructure services, federated authentication, identity and access management, and Office 365 (Messaging, SharePoint, and Teams/Skype) is expected along with PowerShell proficiency.  Additional desired areas of familiarity include Systems Center, MSSQL, server hardware, virtualization, and commercial cloud services (e.g., AWS and Azure).  Experience participating in and leading migrations of Active Directory and Office 365 services would be a plus.

The candidate should be ready to strategically plan and design enterprise applications and services in a highly available, multi-site and/or cloud-hybrid environment.  The candidate should be prepared to come up to speed quickly and be comfortable in a multi-vendor (Linux, Windows, VMware, et al.) academic environment.
