Franklin University has an opening for a Student Financial Services (SFS) Associate.  Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of SFS, the SFS Associate provides financial aid and student account counseling for students.  

As an initial point of contact for the Financial Aid and Business Offices, the SFS Associate is responsible for educating students, analyzing their overall financial circumstances, and processing a variety of documentation.  This includes all financial aid eligibility requirements including but not limited to professional judgment, return to title IV, Community College Alliance program, scholarships, and verification. The SFS Associate will also provide information regarding refunds, payment options, partnership verification, and payment contracts. This position will counsel and conduct outreach on outstanding financial aid requirements as well as payment alternatives, and debt management to help ensure students are making informed financial decisions. The SFS Associate will represent Franklin University and the SFS Office for various campus and external events.

We seek someone with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of financial aid experience with a passionate student-centered philosophy who possesses excellent customer service skills.  The position also requires someone who is detail-oriented and has strong analytical skills to be able to provide appropriate education and counseling.  The selected individual must have a demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment, work well with a team, and meet deadlines under general supervision.  Knowledge of Title IV Programs and federal financial aid regulations is preferred and previous Ellucian Colleague experience would be a plus in this position.
